From the Users page, you can edit the roles of existing users, their name and view what access permissions they currently have.

Passwords

If you don’t sign in through SSO, you sign in to Bronto with your email address and a password.
A password on its own is the weakest way to sign in. Use SSO with your identity provider enforcing MFA, or add MFA to your Bronto login. Administrators choose which login methods are enabled in Settings > Authentication > Login Methods.

Password requirements

Your Bronto password must:
  • be at least 8 characters long
  • include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one symbol

When to change your password

If you sign in with a password only, without SSO or MFA:
  • Change your password periodically.
  • Change your password straight away if:
    • you suspect or know that it has been compromised
    • someone else may have seen it
    • you signed in on a shared device and are leaving that device
If you suspect your password has been compromised, also tell your organisation administrator. To change your password, go to the Settings page from the left sidebar, select Profile, then select the Security tab.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requires a user to present more than one type of verification to authenticate to a system. We support most authenticator apps including Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Duo Security and more.
  • To setup MFA for your login visit the Settings page from the left sidebar
  • Select Profile, then from under the Security tab select the Password and Authentication option
  • From here Click Add to be presented with a QR code to scan with your desired Authentication app
  • Once Scanned, click next and enter the code from your authenticator app and click next.
If you sign in through SSO, configure MFA in your identity provider. Each user enables MFA for their own login. Administrators can’t require MFA for all users in Bronto. To enforce MFA across your organisation, use SSO with MFA enforced by your identity provider.
If your organisation sends telemetry from a PCI DSS environment, Bronto strongly recommends using SSO with MFA enforced by your identity provider, and disabling password login, to meet PCI DSS v4.0.1 requirements. See Manage providers.

Teams

It is possible to create teams in Bronto. From within Organisation Settings you will find a Team menu option where you can manage teams and their assigned users. Teams Pn

Assign Datasets to a Team

Once a team is created for your organisation, you can tag a dataset to associate it with a specific team.
  • Navigate to the Logs page
  • Highlight a Dataset you wish to associate with a team
  • Click the “Dataset Settings” option
  • Fill out the required fields
  • Save Changes

Monthly Ingestion Limit

Bronto allows setting ingestion limits per team. Setting an ingestion limit (in Bytes, GB, TB etc) will restrict the amount of data that can be ingested each month by datasets assigned to a given team. To set a limit, navigate to the team page then select the edit icon next to a team you wish to set a limit for. Team Limits Pn
