# bronto traces

## bronto traces aggregate

Aggregate span attribute values across traces

```sh theme={"dark"}
bronto traces aggregate [flags]
```

#### Flags

| Flag | Short | Type | Default | Description |

| `--all-spans` | | bool | | consider all spans, not just roots |
| `--by` | `-b` | stringArray | | attribute to group by (repeatable, required) |
| `--errors` | | bool | | only error spans |
| `--include-empty` | | bool | | include rows where an attribute is missing |
| `--kind` | `-k` | string | | filter by span kind, e.g. server or client |
| `--limit` | `-n` | int | `50` | max rows |
| `--root-only` | | bool | `true` | only consider root spans |
| `--service` | `-s` | string | | filter by service name |
| `--since` | | string | | relative lookback (default 15m) |
| `--where` | `-w` | string | | additional raw WHERE clause |

## bronto traces list

List individual spans

```sh theme={"dark"}
bronto traces list [flags]
```

| `--min-duration-ms` | | float | | only spans at least this many milliseconds long |

| `--since` | | string | | relative lookback (default 15m) |

## bronto traces operations

Show span counts and latency per service and operation

bronto traces operations [flags]
```

## bronto traces services

Show span counts and latency per service

```

## bronto traces shape

Show the merged call-tree shape across a sample of traces

```sh theme={"dark"}
bronto traces shape [flags]
```

#### Flags

| `--any-span` | | bool | | sample by any matching span, not just entries |
| `--bar-width` | | int | `50` | waterfall bar width in characters |
| `--entry` | | bool | `true` | sample by entry (server) spans |
| `--errors` | | bool | | only error spans/traces |
| `--min-duration-ms` | | float | | only entry spans at least this many milliseconds long |
| `--min-traces` | | int | `1` | drop buckets present in fewer than this many traces |
| `--operation` | | string | | filter by operation (span) name |
| `--sample` | | int | `30` | number of traces to sample |
| `--service` | `-s` | string | | filter by service name |
| `--since` | | string | | relative lookback (default 1h) |
| `--where` | `-w` | string | | additional raw WHERE clause |

Render a single trace as a waterfall

```

| `--limit` | `-n` | int | `500` | max spans to fetch |
